P&Z rejects Orchard Station Amendment and Rezoning

In a packed house with two hours of nearly unanimous opposition, Greenwood Village Planning & Zoning rejected the amendment to the Comprehensive Plan that would create an Orchard Station Subarea by a vote of 8-0. Rezoning six properties from B-1 To Town Center also failed on a 4-4 vote.

Residents that spoke made it clear that they did not want a “downtown” in Greenwood Village and were seriously concerned about the impact on traffic, schools, views and overall quality of life.

City council may still consider voting on the amendment on August 1, so we may still see a similar debate in a couple of weeks.
